How long does PRP last for hair loss?
The length of time PRP lasts for hair loss varies from person to person. After the initial series of three treatments, we recommend at least one treatment a year for annual maintenance.

What is PRP Hair Restoration?
PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is derived from our clients’ blood platelets.
First we draw blood, then the blood sample is placed in a centrifuge to extract the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). The concentrated platelets are then injected and microneedled into the client’s (numb) scalp. PRP therapy helps to stimulate the hair follicles and leads to new hair growth.

PRP has shown to be very effective in treating hair loss. At Metro Medspa, we recommend PRP Hair Restoration in a series of three treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Our clients typically start seeing results after their first treatment and show up excited to see continued improvement after PRP treatments 2 & 3.
The best way to determine if PRP is right for you is to schedule a free consultation with one of our trained providers. They will be able to assess your concerns and determine if this treatment is the best option for you. Overall, PRP therapy is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss, and it’s generally a good choice for most clients experiencing thinning hair.

There is a great deal of anecdotal evidence that PRP therapy can help to promote hair regrowth. A study conducted in Italy in 2017 found male patients had increased hair growth in the areas where doctors applied PRP. According to additional data, both male and female patients have regrown 30 to 40% of lost hair with PRP.

PRP therapy is not typically considered to be a painful treatment. However, some patients may experience minor discomfort during the numbing process.
The side effects of PRP hair restoration can vary depending on the individual. Some common side effects include headache, nausea, and discomfort at the injection site. In most cases, these side effects are temporary and can be alleviated easily.
